How to Register for Sedex?

Before Registering to Sedex you should know about your categories. The categories in which you can register in Sedex are as follows:

  • Buyer (A) Members:

This is for the companies who manage their own suppliers on the Sedex Database, such as retailers at the end of the supply chain.

  • Supplier (B) Members:

This is for the company which is required to publish their Sedex audit reports on the database, such as producers at the beginning of a supply chain.

  • Buyer/ Supplier (AB) Members:

This is for the companies that manage the reporting from their own suppliers but also provide their own reports to buyers, such as trading or processing firms in the middle of a supply chain.

So in such a way the entire supply chain is covered in the Sedex database & ethical sharing of data can be done throughout the supply chain.

How to become a Sedex member?

Registration to the Sedex portal can be done via visiting the Sedex website. Here are the steps on how you can register your organization on the Sedex portal.

  1. First of all, you have to visit Sedex website and scroll to the bottom and click on the ā€œRegistration Formā€.
  2. After clicking on the ā€œRegistration Formā€ you have to enter email address and company name to receive login details.
  3. Once you submit your details, you will receive an email with instructions to proceed.
  4. Click on the Link in the email to proceed.
  5. You will be required to add your full name and a password for your account.
  6. Select company type, and update all the complete details.
  7. After the completion of the details you have to tick the box for accepting the terms & conditions.
  8. After accepting the terms & conditions, you have to click on the finish button.
  9. Once you have completed form update, the members are made to pay for your membership.
  10. The members are made to add production sites details.
  11. The members are asked to link to customers to share the information with.

Implementation of the Sedex

As per Sedex, the member is made to update the self-Assessment Questionnaire & submit it on the Sedex portal. On the successful closing of the gaps, we recommend our clients to register for Sedex Audit on the Sedex portal, once the registration is completed. The Self-Assessment Questionnaire is uploaded on the Sedex portal before inviting the certification body for an on-site assessment.

The Certification body from whom the on-site assessment is to be done is completely depends on the memberā€™s own preference.

Once the onsite audit is done by the certification body the detailed audit report along with corrective action plan is submitted on the Sedex database.
